Atlanta United 1-1 Seattle Sounders: Community Player Ratings

MLS: Seattle Sounders at Atlanta United FC Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United continued to struggle in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, this time struggling to a 1-1 draw against a defensive minded Seattle Sounders team that finished the game with 10 men. The struggles for the Five Stripes followed some familiar themes, ineffectiveness in breaking down a bunkering team, poor finishing, and inability find momentum in the game. It’s not the end of the world, but it was certainly a game that added to recent frustrations.

Man of the Match: Josef Martinez

You named the Venezuelan striker your Man of the Match as he managed to find the net for the 19th time this season. His 19 goals in 20 games so far continues his scoring rate at almost an identical clip to what he produced last year (which was referred to as unsustainable by some). Josef’s goal wasn’t his only action that people will remember from the game. He notably got into a scuffle with Seattle center back Chad Marshall where Martinez shoved his aggressively designed hair and eyebrows into Marshall’s head/neck region. Good times. On to your ratings!
