Atlanta United played host to Orlando City for the first time this year — the teams’ second of three head to head matchups this season — and Atlanta killed several birds with one stone in the victory. Most obviously, the Five Stripes earned a blowout win over their regional and conference rivals, but they also regained some confidence in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where they hadn’t won against a full strength opponent since April 28.
Man of the Match: Miguel Almiron
Quite frankly, I’m shocked and appalled that y’all didn’t unanimously give Miguel a 10. How dare you.
Jokes aside, Almiron was back to his dynamic best, beating Orlando defenders for pace on the counter and creating some good opportunities through possession in the attack. One of the best performances from an Atlanta United player this season.
