Atlanta United’s first-ever Homegrown Player is finally being given his full MLS debut today against D.C. United. Ezequiel Barco’s unexpected absence from the matchday squad has opened the door for Andrew Carleton to get his first start in Major League Soccer.

It is not known yet why Barco is out, but this is a huge opportunity for the Powder Springs native to make a big impact. Many expected Carleton to get more minutes this season, but that hasn’t exactly come to fruition. This start could be the beginning of something for the youngster. Let’s see how he does...
