MLS: MLS All-Star Training Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The day has arrived. Major League Soccer’s top stars have gathered in Atlanta to take on one of the world’s most prestigious clubs. Juventus is this year’s opponent for the annual exhibition.

Atlanta United had six total players voted into the teams with five of them being healthy enough to participate. Miguel Almiron, Josef Martinez, Ezequiel Barco, Michael Parkhurst, and Brad Guzan will all likely see the field tonight. Unfortunately, Darlington Nagbe misses out having picked up an injury earlier in the year.

Juventus bring a respectable squad with them featuring the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Claudio Marchisio, and new signing Emre Can. Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, and Douglas Costa are among the contingent who have joined the team late and have been left back in Europe.

Tata Martino leads the MLS All-Stars. He’ll be tasked with making sure all the players get a fair amount of minutes both to them and their respective club teams as they are all in the middle of their season.

There’s no point in complaining about how meaningless this match is. All we can do is watch and hope that no one gets hurt. Let’s go clean bill of health!
