Atlanta United are set to host American teenager Will Vint for a trial after the midfielder left Manchester United due to visa issues.
The 16-year old joined Manchester United this summer and travelled alongside the youth teams during preseason, but troubles obtaining a visa meant his stay in England was cut short.
With his near-term future in the United States, Vint will have trials at Atlanta United, Sporting Kansas City and Philadelphia Union, according to ESPN FC.
Coming (back) to America
His return to the United States comes after a short stay in England, but the teenager has played in the U.S. soccer development academy with Real Colorado and was tipped to feature with the Manchester United U18s this season.
While he is likely to be disappointed to leave a club of Manchester United’s stature, he now has the chance to return home and work among some of Major League Soccer’s best youth academies. With Atlanta United reported to be among the clubs to give him a trial, his talent would be a welcome addition to a youth academy already loaded with talent.
His stay in the United States may not be for long as Manchester United will reportedly keep an eye on him and aim to bring him back in the future, when he can meet the visa requirements.
