Josef’s record-tying goal upstages Tito’s amazing solo effort in Goal of the Week ballot

GOTW selection drama

MLS: Columbus Crew at Atlanta United FC Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Okay, gang. It’s the time again. Tito Villalba’s amazing game-winning goal against the Columbus Crew — you know, the one where he ran five miles on his own and scored — is up for Goal of the Week.

There were several good goals this week, I think. I haven’t watched them. What’s the point? Tito’s masterpiece deserves the award and it your job to get it for him.

Okay, so apparently MLS has decided that Josef’s record-tying goal is more worthy of nomination. Fair enough, I guess.

While it’s true that Atlanta United fans dominate these polls, now is not the time to get complacent. Vote early and vote often to make sure he gets his due.

Here’s the link to vote.

What do you think? Did MLS choose the right goal? Josef’s goal was undoubtedly good and hugely historic, but Tito’s was truly special and won the game for the team. It’s an interesting decision.
