Atlanta United overcame one of the worst 70 minutes in club history to pull off undoubtedly their most dramatic win in the nearly two years they’ve been in MLS. A wild and crazy night was capped off in the 95th minute by Josef Martinez’s game-winning goal to give the Five Stripes a four point lead atop the Supporters’ Shield standings.
Man of the Match: Josef Martinez
While it wasn’t a particularly great performance from the best striker MLS has ever seen, he still managed two goals on the night, including the aforementioned winner. Josef may not always be on top of his game, but he’s always a threat to put the ball in the net no matter the situation. Thankfully he was able to put the most important chance away to give his side a memorable win.
