Five Stripes, y’all continue to show up and the team will continue to listen. Atlanta United will expand the Benz six times this year (after opening it up to max capacity five times last season) meaning that they will open up the third level seating and go for a capacity of 70,000+ against:
March 10 vs. F.C. Cincinnati
May 12 vs. Orlando City
June 1 vs. Chicago Fire
July 7 vs. New York Red Bulls
August 3 vs. LA Galaxy
September 14 vs. Columbus Crew
Atlanta will be looking to break the MLS total attendance and season average records for the third straight season. The club may also look to shoot for 73,000 in a regular season match, something that was only eclipsed by Atlanta in MLS Cup 2018.
On a more subtle note, the club will likely move up the world’s average attendance ranking and possibly help boost MLS’s average attendance up to 6th, above Serie A. This, of course is if Mercedes-Benz Stadium continues to sell out at the same rate it has so far... but we don’t have any concerns about that.
