Today’s the day we’ve been waiting for since just before Christmas when we found out Dutch legend Frank de Boer would be Atlanta United’s next manager. He will finally address the media for the first time and be welcomed to the club in an introductory presentation ceremony with Arthur Blank, Darren Eales, et al in attendance.
I’ll be keeping you up to date in this post with updates from the training ground and the press conference itself. Please chime in the comments and let us know about anything interesting that’s being discussed on 92.9 The Game or on the Fox Sports South broadcast today. Just refresh this page every so often to stay up to date with the latest from me at the training ground.
Also, if you have any questions you’d like me to ask, I’m up for ideas. Just put your questions in the comments. Happy de Boer day, everyone!
Updates
10:10 a.m. : We’re here at the facility and there’s already a good media contingent here. I’d say there are about 50 chairs set up in the press conference room. The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

10:30 a.m.: Frank de Boer has entered the building. He was quickly whisked away upstairs to the manager’s office. Looking sharp in a blue suit.
10:50 a.m. : Leandro Gonzalez Pirez is laughing with Justin Veldhuis in the hallway. Mics are being tested. THINGS ARE HAPPENING.
11:36 a.m. : The English questions have wrapped up. De Boer has spoken very openly about a variety of topics including his influences as a manager, what happened at Crystal Palace and Inter Milan, and his opinion on playing young players. We’ll be writing more about these things later in the week of course.
1:05 p.m. : As a heads up, there will be coverage coming from team sources this afternoon on 92.9 The Game. They will have Darren Eales on at 3 p.m., Frank de Boer on at 4 p.m., plus interviews with several players on Off the Woodwork throughout the day. Thanks for tuning into us here.
