A new season is fast approaching with preseason under new manager Frank de Boer already underway. With a new regime in place, there will inevitably be a new way of doing things at Atlanta United.
The team has granted us a cool inside look at one of de Boer’s first team talks with the entire squad. After the second day of training, the club’s digital team released this really neat behind the scenes video showing the new manager acting as sort of a Professor teaching a class:
"You are family"

Anyone who’s ever been in a classroom knows that feeling you get when the teacher singles you out for a response. This format of team talk is quite interesting at the professional level. We never quite got to see something like this under Tata Martino, so it’s hard to say how this differs from how it used to be.
The majority of what we get to see focuses on the mentality that the squad will need as it tackles this long and grueling schedule ahead of them. De Boer asks his team to act as a support system for any players who may be struggling or unhappy. He also calls on Josef Martinez, Brek Shea and Julian Gressel to give their thoughts on what needs to happen this season for success.
We’re grateful to get a cool look like this inside the training facility. Hopefully we get to see many more like this.
