In the midst of silly season, transfer rumors are abundant. Atlanta United is a club with a ton of desirable players and sometimes the rumors are surrounding players who could be wanted by other clubs.
According to mediotiempo.com, Liga MX’s Club America have a list of players they desire from Major League Soccer. Atop that list is supposedly Hector “Tito” Villalba.
Club America’s manager Miguel Herrera is well aware of Villalba. He was the manager at Club Tijuana when the Paraguayan went on loan there after his transfer to Atlanta before their inaugural season.
According to the the report, Atlanta United have set a $6 million price tag on Villalba.
The rumor isn’t the craziest thing we’ve ever seen. We all love Tito but the fact is, he wasn’t starting for the majority of the second half of the season last year. With the supposed arrival of Pity Martinez in the near future, it could make sense for Villalba to seek a more important squad role elsewhere.
What do you think of this rumor? Would you be sad to see Tito go for somewhere around the club’s supposed asking price? Comment below.
