Atlanta United are off to the West Coast at the start of February to begin preparations for their first-ever Concacaf Champions League appearance. Before the club plays their first competitive fixture on February 21 in Costa Rica against Herediano, Atlanta will play four closed-doors friendlies out in California.
Here’s a look at the four opponents the MLS Cup champs have lined up as they get ready for their third season.
2/2 vs Seattle Sounders (Cal-State Fullerton)
2/6 vs Club Tijuana (Cal-State Fullerton)
2/10 vs LAFC (Banc of California Stadium)
2/13 vs LA Galaxy (Cal-State Fullerton)
All four matches will not be open to the public.
During their first two preseasons, Atlanta participated in the Charleston Challenge Cup. However, with the important CCL matches coming before the start of the MLS season, it’s imperative that they get in their reps as early as possible.
Is this enough competition for the team to be ready for the 21st? Let us know what you think.
