One of the breakout performers of 2019 across all of MLS was Miles Robinson. At just 22 years-old, he’s nominated for MLS Defender of the Year and was just bumped up to the full US Men’s National Team roster after Walker Zimmerman withdrew from the squad. Robinson’s superlative season has earned him a new MLS deal with Atlanta United. Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Robinson has signed a piece of paper that says he’ll be in Five Stripes through the 2023 season.
Of course, lots can happen between now and then, but this at least shows the team thinks that Robinson is a key part of the club for years to come. According to the MLS Players’ Association, Robinson was on a contract with a Base Salary of $145,000.08 and Guaranteed Salary totaling $201,250.08. Presumably, the new CBA will not restrict the union from releasing these numbers again, so once next summer rolls around that information should be available.
