Ambrose has been with Atlanta United since the club first drafted him as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2016 MLS Expansion Draft, making him one of the club’s first players.
The 26-year-old left back made 20 appearances for the first team during his three years in Atlanta. Ambrose also featured for Atlanta United’s USL team 18 times.
Ambrose was always a reliable and steady option at left back and played a vital role in Atlanta’s win over the Philadelphia Union during Atlanta’s playoff run.
Details are currently unclear as to why the El Paso native won’t be returning to the club in 2020, but we wish the best of luck to Mikey for the next step is his career.
