Do the Earthquakes call it a Yueill Log?

Over the next 25 days, Clear & Obvious and DSS are raising money for Fugees Family through the power of content*. Our goal is for the 17’s to raise $1,717 this holiday season for one of our favorite non-profits. We’ve ALREADY MET OUR FIRST GOAL AND RAISED $3,000. MY GOD. WE HAVE A NEW GOAL NOW. You can continue help us and The Fugees out by donating or creating your own content (Email us! Make a fanpost! Tweet something!) to promote the GoFundMe. Contentmas is for the people. You can donate and find out more about Fugees Family by going here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/dss-drive-for-the-fugees

*not all pieces of content will be winners but hey, what can you do?

If you’re like me, Christmas means one thing: dysfunction. The holidays can be stressful. Between family, the pressure of buying the perfect gift (just make a donation to the Fugees Family in someone’s name - done, stress free gifting) and then having the kid just play with the box anyway, it’s important to de-stress.

People do this lots of ways. Drinking is the obvious one. Eating all of the cookies that all of your co-workers ruthlessly bring to the office over the entire month is another. Others, (hello dear readers) find refuge by escaping to their digital devices and consume massive quantities of content and post online - so many posts. Many more are busy waging war upon or defending Christmas - usually in episodes that traumatize Starbucks baristas.

However, there are healthy ways of dealing with this. Some people find refuge in religion, meditation, spending time in nature, or journaling.

Those are all extremely lame compared to the unhealthy things. But those things might get you fired or have other consequences that you might not want.

Personally, I find it very calming to gaze for hours into a crackling fire. The problem being that I can’t light one in my office and my home has no fireplace. Thus, I find solace in the Holiday classic - an original piece of Contentmas from history - the Yule Log video. You can find scores of these on Youtube, but to my dismay I didn’t see a single one that featured Atlanta United, so I created these.

First up is the all-time classic Atlanta United moment when Josef Martinez almost turned himself into MLS James Hatfield (gimme fue, gimme fai, gimme dabajabaza - there this Contentmas piece has a new chant in it too!). Be sure to turn the sound on for those relaxing fire crackling noises.

If the Yule Log isn’t your thing, another option is the Atlanta United goal flame thrower. Nothing says Christmas like a 25 foot tower of flame along with a deafening train whistle. To get the full experience, you really need the sound on again.

Bookmark this post and turn up the sound to set the mood at your next Holiday gathering.

Merry Contentmas!
