Atlanta United to play 2020 MLS home opener March 7 vs. FC Cincinnati

We’re counting down the days.

MLS: FC Cincinnati at Atlanta United FC Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United’s first MLS home game in 2020 will be perfect — a 7 p.m. Saturday kickoff on March 7 against FC Cincinnati.

That means you can go absolutely hog wild in the gulch and have all Sunday to recover. And considering the date of the game — early March — there’s basically nothing else going on in the sports world. This will be the hottest ticket in the city.

Interestingly, it will be the second straight season in which Atlanta opens at home against Cincinnati, though the team will want to put on a better performance for its fans than the lackluster 1-1 result last season. It’ll also be a return to Atlanta for Brandon Vazquez, who was selected by Nashville SC in the expansion draft and flipped to Cincy in a trade.

Atlanta will open league play against expansion club Nashville SC on Saturday, February 29 at 8 p.m. EST at Nissan Stadium. Atlanta will also feature in Chicago Fire’s home opener at Soldier Field when the club visits Chicago on Saturday, March 21 with kickoff set for 6 p.m. EST.

Ticket information can be found here and information about single-game tickets will be made available in January.
