2019 Concacaf Champions League Round of 16: Leg 1 start times, how to watch and more

The annual competition between North America’s best clubs is here.

Ten months after Chivas took Toronto FC down in penalties to win its second Concacaf Champions League title, the annual competition is upon us once more as Leg 1 of the Round of 16 begins tonight. While 12 of the 16 teams in the field have multiple appearances - Herediano leads the way with 9 - it’s a first-ever taste for Guatemalan side Guastatoya, Panama’s Independiente, the Dominican Republic’s Atlético Pantoja, and, of course, Atlanta United. There is the chance of a first-time winner as Monterrey (2013) is the only team to have won it before.

Who will become Concacaf’s representative at the FIFA Club World Cup? We’ll know in two and a half months’ time.
