What were they trying to keep secret? Were they just trying to spare the Seattle Sounders the reality that the Portland Timbers did them a huge favor by eliminating them in the MLS Playoffs last year? Maybe Atlanta United just wants to keep the preparations for the Concacaf Champions League under wraps ahead of the tournament getting underway.
Whatever the reason, Atlanta United began their preseason by scoring seven goals again. Despite it being a closed door friendly, the team put together a highlight video so we’d all know what we were missing. This video has everything, a Josef Martinez goal, a Pity Martinez penalty, Brek Shea being an absolute unit, Ezequiel Barco’s bleached hair, it even looked like Josef smiled at one point.

"I'm a very happy coach right now"
