D.C. United vs. Atlanta United live stream: Time, TV schedule and lineups

The MLS season opener (kinda).

The 2019 MLS season is here. While for the majority of the league this is a huge weekend, for Atlanta United it seems more like an inconvenience as they have their sights set on Concacaf Champions League glory.

It still remains to be seen what exactly Frank de Boer’s plans are for this season opener against D.C. United. Will he start an all-reserve lineup? Does the team even have enough available reserves to do that? Which important starters might be risked? So many questions that will only be answered when the lineup is announced.

Meanwhile, D.C. have been a thorn in Atlanta’s side since the inaugural 2017 season. Wayne Rooney’s bunch have been the hipster MLS Cup pick of experts this preseason. The hype is strong with them coming off of a strong second half of last season.

It should be an interesting match if nothing else. Can Atlanta United get something out of this match while resting their best players? Or will de Boer throw caution to the wind and trot out a strong eleven? Whatever the case, D.C. will be looking to start their season off right and prove their believers right. The MLS Cup title defense starts today.
