Atlanta United again failed to tally its first MLS win in 2019, this time losing 2-0 to the Columbus Crew on a pitch that finished nearly completely submerged in water at MAPFRE Stadium.

The most frustrating thing about the match — one that goalkeeper Brad Guzan referred to as “a disgrace” — is that it’s hard to take away much from it. Atlanta clearly did not come out of the gates alert, conceding a goal early in the second minute. That goal would prove to be fatal as the teams played on in conditions that reduced the game to a different sport entirely. e
