Atlanta United is on a roll now, having won it’s third consecutive match and second straight in convincing fashion over likely playoff teams — this time a 2-0 win over Toronto FC. Yes, Toronto rotated its squad, but the big guns Alejandro Pozuelo and Michael Bradley still played. Atlanta was similarly disadvantaged without Ezequiel Barco and George Bello, as well as Atlanta having had a day less of rest before this midweek match.
Man of the Match: Tito Villalba
The Paraguayan international was slicing and dicing Toronto’s defense all night. He got his first goal of the season on a scrappy finish in the mixer, but nearly scored what would’ve been a goal of the year candidate when he put two Toronto defenders on skates in the box before his shot drilled off the post. Overall, it was Tito in his purest form.
