Atlanta United will likely be without another impact attacking player on Friday in Utah. Frank de Boer told local media today that Tito Villalba is doubtful to play against Real Salt Lake after picking up what is being described as “a minor knee injury” late in their 1-0 loss to NYRB on Sunday.
Tito Villalba is doubtful for Atlanta United’s game at Real Salt Lake. Dion Pereira or Justin Meram could take his spot in the starting 11. #ATLUTD https://t.co/SraUl2cdR6

Of course, Villalba was the replacement for Ezequiel Barco, who is currently away on international duty at the FIFA U-20 World Cup with Argentina. As Chris Fuhrmeister points out in his report, Dion Pereira and Justin Meram are options to fill in for De Boer on the wing. Also, there’s a rumor that Andrew Carleton still exists.
Tito was injured by NYRB’s Kemar Lawrence, who lunged into a reckless tackle for no reason in the last seconds of Sunday’s match and then proceeded to mock Villalba for having an issue with not wanting to be injured for no reason whatsoever.
Get well soon, Tito.
