MLS: Atlanta United FC at Real Salt Lake Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United was on the wrong side of a last second golazo in Rio Tinto Stadium Friday night as the Five Stripes lost a heartbreaker to Real Salt Lake by a final score of 2-1. Jefferson Savarino and Bofo Saucedo scored two sensational goals for the home side. Josef Martinez scored in the second half to bring the visitors level, but the Venezuelan’s first goal from open play in five matches proved not to be enough.

Man of the Match: Josef Martinez

He scored, which was cool. But outside of his scrappy 78th-minute goal, the striker did see many shooting opportunities and was for the most part rendered ineffective. Shoutout to Franco Escobar, who received the second-highest rating from the community and noticeably changed the game with his introduction. Escobar was credited with an assist on Martinez’s goal.
