Atlanta United and Charleston Battery’s USOC Match Rescheduled

The closed-door match will be held at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw at 7 pm

After rain made the pitch unplayable for the Tuesday evening’s U.S. Open Cup matchup between Atlanta United and Charleston Battery at MUSC Health Stadium in Charleston, the hosts were unable to find a viable solution for the make-up game by U.S. Soccer’s deadline.

Per a U.S. Soccer press release, the organization made the decision to move the game to Kennesaw State University’s Fifth Third Bank Stadium due to immediate availability. U.S. Soccer gave Charleston Battery a 12 hour window to secure a new venue, but ultimately had to make the decision to move the game to Atlanta United 2’s homefield to maintain the U.S. Open Cup schedule.

Due to insufficient time to secure staff and security personnel, the U.S. Soccer press release stated that the game will be a closed-door event and will not be open to the public.

The Fourth Round match of the U.S. Open Cup will be played at 7 pm on June 13th and can be streamed on ESPN+.
