Atlanta United raised it’s second trophy in nine months thanks to a rousing 3-2 win over Mexican champions Club America to win the Campeones Cup in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It was a match fit for the spectacle of the occasion, and anyone who was there will surely hold it as one of the most memorable Atlanta United games they’ve seen.
Man of the Match: Darlington Nagbe
Great, great, great choice. Nagbe didn’t score in the game, but he received more than a 9 rating from you all — a well deserved MOTM performance. Nagbe dictated things all night and oftentimes singlehandedly maneuvered Atlanta United out of trouble and into dangerous areas to attack.
Full Player Ratings
GK: Alec Kann - 7.71 (Note: I messed up and forgot to change Alec out with Guzan in the quiz form, and many people submitted a 1 rating next to Guzan’s name, more of a reflection of me than of Kann. The raw rating came out to 5.80 but the number listed above is with all 1s removed. Thank you to everyone who let me know of my error. It will happen again.)
