Josef Martinez and a defender scored as Atlanta United beat Portland 2-0. Sound familiar?
The things that happened in the game that was played
LGP scored. No, for real. He did.
Relentless pressure

Then there were some really solid Portland chances, then some really solid Atlanta chances, then Gio Savarese slipped the ref a fiver, then Pity got fouled in the box and no one in charge considered that problematic and then we entered the half with Atlanta up one in just some pure, uncut #FiveStripesAfterDark.
The second half wasted no time continuing the insanity. The King had to make his presence felt immediately.
He won't stop!

That's 11 straight MLS games with a goal for @JosefMartinez17. #PORvATL pic.twitter.com/P2oYF2ejlP
BTDS.
A (very sleepy) Recap Thought: Doing the dang thing on the road now too.
Portland had only lost once at home. They lost to LAFC. Atlanta had been completely terrible on the road. Tonight, they played their best road game of the year against a great home team who had only lost to the best team in MLS regular season history.
All this to say.
Might want to be excited about Atlanta’s improved road form. Will be useful for the trip to LA later this year.
DSS Man of the Match

Larentowicz Man of the Match
Miles, as always, did an excellent job sweeping up some of the messes left to him by those in front of him. We enjoy Miles Robinson, soccer player.
