Orlando City 0-1 Atlanta United: Community Player Ratings

Your player ratings from another ho-hum win against Orlando.

MLS: Atlanta United FC at Orlando City SC Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United remained undefeated in its history against Orlando City thanks to a 1-0 win over the Lions at Exploria Stadium Friday night. It was a brutal game played in some of the worst possible conditions: extremely hot and humid air combined with a pitch that took on heavy downpours for much of the day is no fun. (Orlando in general is no fun, but that’s another conversation.) In the end, Atlanta took care of business in a game that could’ve easily been a trap with today’s U.S. Open Cup final just over the horizon.

Man of the Match: Brad Guzan (!!)

That’s two exclamation points for BACK-TO-BACK man of the match election wins for Brad Guzan! He didn’t have a ton of saves to make, but Guzan was instrumental in helping marshal a back line that was under duress for significant portions of the game. He commanded his box well and made the big saves when they needed making.
