Fresh off capturing their second trophy of the season (Yes, I’m counting the Campeones Cup. These other bum teams could never do what they did against one of the best Liga MX teams. You want to fight about? Meet me in Temecula.), Atlanta United head to Philadelphia to try and set themselves up for a third.

Winning the Eastern conference this season is huge. There are no more two-legged playoffs to fall back on. The top seeds get to host one do or die game. For the Five Stripes, getting to host is crucial to their postseason success. So, while the champagne may not even be dried up yet, it’s time to focus on the Union in what could very well be one of the biggest remaining matches in all of the regular season.

While NYCFC is still lurking closely behind, right now the battle at the top of the East is between Atlanta and Philly. Whichever team comes out on top tonight will have the inside track to that top seed. Buckle up, folks. This is a big one.

Let’s soccer.
