Atlanta United punched its ticket to the final of the U.S. Open Cup Tuesday after a routine 2-0 win over Orlando City. Palms may have been a bit sweaty early in the game when Orlando found one or two good chances, but once Eric Remedi put Atlanta ahead in the 37th minute, the result felt like a formality. Emerson Hyndman indeed sealed the deal with his first goal since joining the Five Stripes in the 78th minute.
Man of the Match: Eric Remedi
Remedi got a rest over the weekend against the LA Galaxy, and the time off seemed to give the Argentine midfielder renewed energy as he often involved himself in the attack. The midfielder put Atlanta on the board when his shot from the top of the box was parried away, but he continued his run to the near post to get on the end of a square ball delivered by Julian Gressel.
