You’ll forgive me if this is brief. It’s 12:30 in the morning and I have to get up at 6 for work. Let’s get down to business.
So the North Carolina Courage traveled to face Portland Thorns FC in midweek game. On short rest, the Courage started the game two points down, but they would finish the game at the top of the National Women’s Soccer League standings. The Courage scored thrice in the first half and then doubled that total in the second half, which is just perfect...because we hate the Thorns.
This win all-but guarantees that the Courage will be raising the NWSL Shield for the third year in a row. Let’s run through those goals.
The first goal was pure class. Stunning in its speed an execution. The dummy was phenomenal. 1-0 Courage courtesy of Debinha.

This amazing shot from Crystal Dunn his the post, but Lynn Williams is able to put it away for a 2-0 lead.
So. many. goals. Can't. keep. up.

A statue could have scored this goal. Williams just sticks her foot out and redirects the ball. 3-0 Courage.

We didn’t score again in the first half, but Dunn got on the board in the second half. Once again, this was more of a goal for the assisting player - Jaelene Hinkle - than it was for the goal scorer. 4-0 North Carolina.
Goal #4 of the night for the Courage and goal #7 of the season for @crysdunn_19.#PORvNC 0-4 pic.twitter.com/DRWxcacdO9

Lynn Williams decides to score a hat trick, so that’s cool. I’d like to say that the Thorns deserve this for the own goal win earlier, and the Courage take a 5-0 win.

Kristen Hamilton, who didn’t start this match, was overtaken by Lynn Williams with the hat trick. To get back at the Thorns defense, she just goes ahead and embarrasses them herself. 6-0 Courage. Let’s! Go!

The Courage are back at home against Orlando on Saturday. Maybe we can get a similar performance. G’night Courage nation!
