Here are the salaries for the Atlanta United squad in 2019.

We see that Josef is now making $3 million per year, a nice increase from his last contract, Barco is making close to $1.5 million, and Pity is making $900,000. That's an interesting spread for our DPs and should be worth following if the salary cap or the idea of a DP changes in the next CBA.

LGP is the next most expensive player on the team with total guaranteed money at over $800,000, Guzan is next at $680,000, while Nagbe makes a sizeable but probably undercompensated $665,000. Meram is close behind Nagbe at $650,000.

To round out our starters, we have Remedi ($300,000), Robinson ($145,000), Escobar ($300,000), and Gressel ($115,000).

If Villalba comes off of the books, that money should go directly to giving Gressel a new deal. If you compare their salaries, Villalba is currently making $722,000 with the potential to reach $830,000 compared to Gressel's modest $115,000. That will be valuable resources to use elsewhere.

Parkhurst retiring this season will also clear $300,000 off of the books that can be used on a younger player.

The deal of the century may go to Dion who comes in at a measly $56,000. All of our other Homegrowns are making more than him even though he has seen the field more than any other young player.

So what do y'all think? Who has the most surprising salary number, and who do you think will get a raise very soon? Do you see obvious savings coming up and how would you like to see those newly found resources allocated? Share in the comments below.
