MLS Draft 2020: Updates, Broadcast Info, Discussion

Super duper draft day.

It’s that time again folks. Time for the 0.5% of people in the American soccer community who pay attention to college soccer to mock us common folk for not knowing a damn thing about the MLS SuperDraft.

Atlanta United possesses just one pick on day one, which features the first two rounds. They hold the No. 23 overall pick.

I have no idea what type of player the Atlanta brass will be looking for. Smarter people than us have delved into the possibilities in mock drafts. MLSSoccer has the Five Stripes taking a left back, while Top Drawer Soccer thinks it could be a centerback.

We’re not going to pretend to have much (any) knowledge of the players available. If you happen to have some insight, feel free to drop some wisdom on us in the comments.

Nevertheless, it’s still an event involving the entire league and moves could happen. Atlanta are no stranger to making noise, outside of just picking players, during the draft. In 2018 the team announced the signing of Ezequiel Barco during the event. Could they finally announce something to get this offseason headed in the right direction? We can only hope.

The draft begins at 12:30 p.m. ET and will only be available digitally via youtube.com/MLS, facebook.com/espn, twitter.com/espn, or the ESPN app.

See you in the comments for another edition of the MLS SuperDraft.
