Predicting Atlanta United's starting XI vs. Club America

Miracle in Orlando?

Atlanta United face off against Club America in the CONCACAF Champions League in the second leg after a 3-0 defeat back early in the year.

Atlanta United has not played a competitive match since their loss to Columbus Crew in early March. Luckily, Club America hasn’t played a match in a couple of weeks either.

Atlanta United needs a miracle to pull off a comeback win against Club America, and with the state of the current squad, the chances are looking very slim.

My predicted line up:

With Jeff Larentowicz gone, Eric Remedi needs to step up. His season has been below average after a good start, and with his future at the club in doubt, a big performance is exactly what he needs.

Glass mentioned that Marcelino Moreno and Jurgen Damm have struggled with physicality, so they are in doubt to start the match. Big shoes to fill for both Hyndman and Rossetto, who have both struggled this season in creating chances and being an extra creative outlet for Atlanta United.

With the departure of Jon Gallagher, Adam Jahn is now Atlanta United’s top scorer this season. It only means he has to start, right? Atlanta United fans can be excited about Erick Lopez possibly making his debut for Atlanta United. It is unlikely that he will start, but Glass has surprised us before.

This match gives Glass the opportunity to play guys that didn't get many minutes this season or some of the Atlanta United 2 players that shined like Jackson Conway. It also gives Glass a chance to try something new, but with his tenure up after this game, it seems unlikely he will change anything up tactic wise.
