Good Morning Atlanta!

We hope you had a safe and celebratory weekend after Gabriel Heinze was officially named as Atlanta United’s manager Friday afternoon.

The 42-year-old Argentine who starred as a player at Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, Roma, and best of all, Newell’s Old Boys will take over the Five Stripes in 2021 on a two-year contract. He’s quickly established himself as one of the top up-and-coming coaches in world football, highlighted by his most recent two-and-a-half-year stint at Velez Sarsfield. During the 2019-20 season, Heinze impressively led the third-youngest team in the 24-team league to a third-place finish.

This morning at 10 a.m., he will speak to reporters for the first time in his new colors.
