New Atlanta United manager Gabriel Heinze was formally introduced to the media and fans in his introductory press conference this morning, and the Argentine wasn’t timid to share that the club is indeed looking at reinforcements.
Heinze said that he wants to bring in quality players in certain areas and there are “offers on the table” as we speak.
The Athletic’s Felipe Cardenas reported last week that Agustin Almendra, a central midfielder from Boca Jrs., is a player Atlanta is interested in as a Designated Player signing.
Gabriel Heinze will become Atlanta United's next head coach, pending an official announcement.

Gabriel Heinze said that he has his staff in place. Rumors about Javier Mascherano and Fernando Gago joining his staff are "incorrect." Heinze said that it's up to (Carlos Bocanegra) to comment on the possibility of signing of Agustin Almendra.

A less-substantiated rumor currently circulating is around a former player of Heinze’s — winger Lucas Janson. Janson played for Toronto FC on loan in 2018, scoring four league goals across 818 minutes in 11 appearances.

Safe to say, with Atlanta United having essentially traded Jon Gallagher for an international roster spot in a three-team trade, the team will be dipping into the market soon to improve the team in key positions.
