Atlanta United announced on Thursday morning that two Atlanta United academy players, Efrain Morales and Caleb Wiley, have been called up to represent the US U-17s at the team’s first training camp of 2020.
Larry Sunderland, the Director of Player Development at FC Cincinnati, will be leading the team as they compete in the UEFA Development Tournament in at St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent, England.
Morales and Wiley currently play for Atlanta United’s U-17 side. Morales recently returned to Atlanta from a brief training stint at Premier League giants Manchester United.
It’s another sign of the potential the Atlanta United academy has as Morales and Wiley will be linking up with other youth players from major clubs such as Devan Tanton of La Liga sides FC Barcelona and Federico Oliva of Atletico Madrid. The roster consists of a total of 20 players that will represent the USA against Spain (Feb 19.), England (Feb 21.), and Denmark (Feb. 24).
