Atlanta United secured passage to the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Champions League with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Honduran side FC Motagua. It was a complete performance in all phases by Atlanta, who controlled the game with possession — limiting Motagua’s chances — while creating more and more of their own opportunities as the game wore on.

Atlanta’s Argentine playmaker had possibly his best ever performance for the Five Stripes, complete with two goals and an assist. But beyond the production, he was the creative hub for the team, dropping into gaps in the defense and spraying balls to attackers all over the pitch. Motagua simply had no answer for him.
