Darren Eales spoke to the Atlanta United media on Monday giving updates on the team’s preparations ahead of the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando. In addition to revealing no teams have reached out to sign Ezequiel Barco or pretending Jurgen Damm doesn’t exist, a bombshell was dropped. The team’s transfer “target list” was unthinkably leaked via the video conference call.
The completely oblivious Eales accidentally left the team’s extravagant shopping list up on the white board in front of the live camera for the world to see.
Wrapped up a video call with Atlanta United president Darren Eales -- and whoops, his list of top transfer targets is still on the white board behind him! Some guys named Gareth Bale and Messi (no first name??) seem to be priorities. pic.twitter.com/RmwXzO2YWM

Upon closer inspection, the names on the list include Gareth Bale, Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Cristiano Ronaldo and Matt Moore. Why a 35-year-old retired back-up NFL quarterback is on the list remains a mystery.

However, this list is really exciting. There shouldn’t be any reason the club can’t sign at least one of these players whenever the summer transfer window opens up. When asked about the leaked list, Eales responded by saying it’s the club’s policy to not comment on players not under contract with Atlanta United.
Stay tuned to DSS for any developments on the club’s chase to sign one of these players.
