Atlanta United wasn’t the only team to return to play last night. The 2’s also returned to action for their second match of 2020. While they fell 2-1 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies, it was recent high school graduate Jackson Conway who wow’d everyone with a Goal of the Season candidate early in the first half.
The English-American led a 3-on-3 break and decided to just have a crack from about 30 yards away from goal. His curling effort flew past the outstretched arms of Tampa’s goalkeeper and into the back of the net for what could be the best goal scored by an Atlanta United player this calendar year.
WHAT A FINISH!!

Conway has certainly shown glimpses of being a promising attacker with his play for the academy and U.S. youth national team. With the senior team in dire need of striking options, perhaps another Homegrown contract offer could be on the cards in the future? Moments like this will surely grab the attention of the club’s decision makers.
