Atlanta United’s debut in the MLS is Back tournament did not go how some fans wanted it to. It’s back to square one for Frank de Boer and his team if they want to earn three crucial points Thursday morning. Atlanta lost to the Red Bulls 1-0 after an early goal from Florian Valot, and although Atlanta had a higher xG, they suffered a good bit and need to make some changes.

The real surprise came from the midfield. The partnership of Mo Adams and Hyndman didn’t work out well. They left holes and spaces where the Red Bulls punished Atlanta.
Atlanta United have already faced and beaten Cincinnati in pre-hiatus MLS play in their home opener. De Boer needs to make changes to the team, how will he line up?
My predicted lineup:

The only real change I made was from my prediction last week was Bello. He was one of the best-attacking players for Atlanta and should be given the opportunity again.
Defense:
The defense will practically be the same. De Boer loves his back three, so I highly doubt he’ll change it.
Midfield:
Remedi in for Mo Adams. Atlanta struggled to play the ball from the back. With Remedi in the line-up, they can. Before the suspension, he was a rock in the midfield and one of Atlanta United’s best performing. Remedi gives Hyndman a little more ability to roam around more freely and help Barco/Pity create opportunities to score.
After hearing FdB, expect the midfield personnel to change vs FC Cincinnati. According to the manager, this is more about managing fitness than tactics.

Attack:
De Boer’s front three did not work at all. It could be rust, but either way, something needs to change up top. It was surprising to see Barco start on the bench, but there could’ve been fitness issues. Jahn also needs to be in the starting line up. He almost equalized and forced an incredible save in the final minutes of the match. He’s a strong presence in the box and can create space for both Barco and Pity.
I don't expect a ton of changes but think some rotation is likely. I don't expect a change of shape.

Jahn for Castro
Barco for Rossetto
