After an unfamiliar week long break, Atlanta United returns to the pitch tonight for one final go-round against Inter Miami.
The Five Stripes are yet to win in the series, which has favored the South Florida expansion side 1-1-0 so far. The most recent of these came just 10 days ago, a gutting 2-1 loss in Ft. Lauderdale that could have turned out much differently if not for some unfortunate penalty placements from Ezequiel Barco. This was followed up by an uninspiring 4-2 first-ever loss to Nashville SC last weekend. Now with a full week to regroup for the first time in a while, Atlanta will try to put those results behind them as they return to home turf.
Inter Miami hasn’t found much success in their last five matches either outside of that Atlanta match, losing 2-1 to Orlando following the win. They’ve made headlines in the meantime, signing Gonzalo Higuain with their final DP spot; fortunately, he will remain unavailable to play tonight.
Can a rested Atlanta right itself in familiar confines? Will Fernando Meza help repair a leaky defense? Will Barco survive the amount of fouls he’s about to receive?
As always, hit up the match preview and predicted lineup posts while you wait, then make your way back here in time for kickoff a little past 7 PM.
