Atlanta United vs. FC Dallas: Match Thread and How to Watch

Stripes vs. Hoops on a Wednesday night

Atlanta United plays their first and only Western Conference opponent tonight, welcoming FC Dallas to the recently more unfortified confines of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta are currently under a 6 match winless spiral, while the visitors enter with a 3 game win streak, the most recent coming on the road at Sporting Kansas City last weekend.

While the Five Stripes have been active in trying to salvage what’s left of 2020, announcing a Designated Player in Marcelino Moreno, there will be little change from the roster that fell to Inter Miami 2-1 on Saturday. Moreno, still waiting for an International Transfer Certificate and visa, will also have to undergo a quarantine period before he is allowed to join the team. Jurgen Damm and now Cubo Torres are absent from the matchday roster due to injury, however, we may get to see Barco return to action (barring yet another late injury). Fernando Meza could join the starting lineup as well after watching the past few kickoffs from the bench as he returns to full fitness.

Atlanta is 1-2-0 all time when meeting Dallas, the lone win being the Mercedes-Benz Stadium opener back in 2017. Dallas was able to win the previous meeting 2-1 in the Benz in April 2019, a result they will be trying to repeat tonight.

Can the Five Stripes manage a clean sheet past the first couple minutes? What surprises will Glassy throw into the starting lineup? Remember to browse through the match preview and lineup prediction, then scroll on down to the match thread as we watch Atlanta take the field once more.
