Soccer is fun again! I mean, we all knew it deep down, but after Wednesday’s 1-0 win over FC Dallas, gamedays feel a lot more exciting now than they used to. To quote Atlanta United’s joint-leading goalscorer, Jeff Larentowicz, winning “can be like a drug.” We’ll have an opportunity to get our next fix tonight as the Five Stripes leave the southeastern United States for the first time in months.
The destination? Soldier Field, new home of the Chicago Fire, where the hosts recently broke out of a winless streak of their own, beating Houston 4-0 on Wednesday. Despite the big win, the Fire sit 12th in the Eastern Conference, yet only two points from Atlanta United and the playoff line. A win for Atlanta tonight brings an important bit of separation as the playoffs inch closer.
Can the Five Stripes turn a win into a win streak? Will Barco actually return to the lineup this match? Does Larentowicz continue his hunt for the Golden Boot?
While you wait, make sure to check out our match preview and lineup prediction for tonight, then join us in here as we try not to repeat the last trip to Chicago.
