The matches are piling on now as we near the end of regional MLS play, and the latest midweek matchup comes tonight as Atlanta United travels back down to everyone’s favorite state.
Adam Jahn’s stoppage time equalizer Saturday against Orlando will have team spirits a little higher than they were for the previous Inter Miami match, exactly one week ago. Inter Miami also earned themselves another draw on the weekend, their second straight. Hopefully, for ours and Miami fans’ sanity, we don’t get a repeat of that scoreline here.
Accomplishing that will take more offensive effort from the South Floridians, but they’ll have help with the suspension of Franco Escobar for yellow card accumulation and the still injured Fernando Meza. Atlanta’s job, on the other hand, is made much more difficult by the presence of Blaise Matuidi, World Cup winner and former Juventus midfielder who in his first appearance brought control that Miami had previously lacked.
Is Atlanta legitimately improving? Will Damm get his first start? Will Adam Jahn strike shush again?
