Atlanta United announced Gabriel Heinze’s technical staff for the 2021 season on Monday. The Argentine has added five names to the club’s First Team staff to go along with some returning members.

The newcomers recruited by Heinze are Mariano Toedtli (Assistant Coach), Nicolas Pavlovich (Assistant Coach), Pedro Mateo Leivas (Assistant Coach), Javier Vilamitjana (Fitness Coach) and Diego Navone (Video Analyst). They join returning goalkeeper coach Liam Curran on the staff.

The club has also announced that Stephen Glass and Henry Apaloo will return to their previous roles with ATL UTD 2, while Tony Annan will return to his role as Academy Director. Rob Valentino continues on at the club in a youth development role.

Toedtli has been with Heinze since the very beginning of his coaching career at Godoy Cruz and boasts an impressive playing resume with stops Portugal, Spain and Argentina. Pavlovich is also a tenured Heinze assistant, coaching under him at Velez Sarsfield. Leivas joins the club from Sporting Global LLC and will help in translating.

Vilamitjana has also been a part of Heinze’s staff since the very beginning and has also spent some time with the Argentine National Team. Rounding out the staff is Navone, who also has been with Heinze since the Godoy Cruz days and served in the same Video Analyst role at Velez.

Welcome to Atlanta, fellas!
