According to Merlo, there are plenty of teams looking to bring Remedi in on a loan deal.
Has Eric Remedi played his last minutes as an Atlanta United player? According to TyC Sports in Argentina, the defensive midfielder has drawn interest from Independiente as a possible reinforcement for the upcoming Superliga season.

Independiente’s current manager is Julio Cesar Falcioni, who previously managed Remedi at Banfield before his arrival in Atlanta in 2018. These two clubs are no stranger to doing business with each other, either. They worked together to bring Ezequiel Barco to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in what was one of the most high-profile transfers in both clubs’ histories.
Remedi arrived during Atlanta’s MLS Cup-winning season and filled a massive hole left by Carlos Carmona. He holds the honor of scoring the first-ever playoff goal in the club’s history when he bungled in the first goal in the opening away leg against New York City FC in the 2018 MLS Eastern conference semifinals.
However, his form since that tremendous year has never been recaptured. His impact on the squad has steadily declined, leaving the club in search of an upgrade at his position.
It’s unclear just how reliable this rumor may be. There are suggestions that only a loan move would be feasible for Independiente to get it over the line. Let’s wait and see how it all plays out.
