Atlanta United will then travel to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to face Western Conference regular season champions Colorado Rapids in their home opener on March 5. That game is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m.
Next year is going to look different for the soccer world because the FIFA World Cup is set to begin on Nov. 21 as opposed to the summer. Decision Day will be on Oct. 9 with MLS Cup set to be played on Nov. 5.
With the introduction of Charlotte FC to the league next year, there will be 28 teams competing in MLS. Charlotte is joining the Eastern Conference and Nashville SC will move to the West to evenly split all 28 teams across both conferences. Atlanta will later learn who its remaining six Western Conference opponents are.
