The leaks appear to be true. Atlanta United’s new primary kit — set to be released this month — has been spotted in a store in Mexico City. It presumably has been put out for sale earlier than it should’ve been by whoever is in charge of that sort of thing.

It’s clearly a big shift from what we’ve been accustomed to with the first two iterations of the primary kit. Supporters have clamored for the return of the original Five Stripes design in some form. This new kit features five stripe-ish lines instead and is predominantly black. Needless to say, it’s not anything like the look many had hoped for and will take some getting used to.
It’s important to note that while Atlanta United have some say in the design of their kits they don’t have total control. Adidas is going to ultimately produce a kit that they think will be a big enough change to warrant your money. Whether or not they’ve produced something worthy of that is completely up to you.
