Atlanta United 2021 season first match and home opener announced

It’s going to be a packed April for the Five Stripes

MLS: Atlanta United FC at Nashville SC Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Somehow it’s still 37 days until the MLS season opens, but the league has announced home openers for 2021. Atlanta United will once again start the year on the road, this time thanks to Jake Paul, and will play the Orlando City Soccer Club in Florida. That match will kickoff at 3PM on Saturday, April 17 broadcast by UniMás, TUDN, and Twitter so fans will probably get a chance to see it. The actual home opener for the team will be against the Chicago Fire at Mercedes-Benz Stadium kicking off at 8PM on Saturday, April 24.

While that will mark the beginning of the MLS campaign, Atlanta will travel to Costa Rica to play LD Alajuelense on April 6th before hosting the team in Kennesaw on Tuesday, April 13. Obviously, the year will begin with a packed schedule for the Five Stripes as they embark on their historic fifth season.
