Atlanta United is no stranger for being bumped from its stadium for venues having a packed schedule. The team was forced to take an extended break in 2017 when construction opening Mercedes-Benz Stadium was delayed and Bobby Dodd Stadium was unavailable due to it being on the campus of one of the finest research universities in the world. Of course, the team had to play its 2019 home match against Costa Rican powerhouse Herediano in Kennesaw due to Monster Jam.
Once again, the team faces the possibility of being bumped due to another event being hosted at the stadium. This time, it’s because Jake Paul is “boxing”. According to something that reached Bob Williams’ INBOX, Paul will be taking on UFC fighter Ben Askren on April 17, the day MLS will begin the 2021 season.
INBOX: Triller Fight Club today announced that Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, will be the home for TFC’s inaugural event of 2021, the April 17 boxing Pay-Per-View card headlined by Jake Paul and Ben Askren.

This will be the first boxing event held at the stadium that did not involve Yamil Asad and is hosted by Tiller Fight Club. So far there haven’t been any details released about the MLS schedule as far as who will be playing who and when, but it seems like if Atlanta United is playing that weekend the team will be on the road.
